Starion Bank recently issued the following announcement.
Starion Bank has awarded Megan Rodine, an Oakes High School (OHS) graduate, with a $500 scholarship to support her pursuit of a degree in agribusiness. This scholarship was open to any FFA student planning to pursue a degree in an agriculture related field. Of our many applicants, Rodine was chosen based on her successes and accomplishments directly related to this scholarship.
Throughout Rodine’s high school career, she has excelled in 14 different extracurricular activities, proceeding to win awards in many of these extracurriculars. She has been involved in sports such as volleyball and golf, while also being involved in organizations more directly related to her pursuit in agribusiness such as the American Angus Association and the North Dakota Jr. Angus Association. Rodine was named the 2018 FFA Outstanding Sophomore followed by the 2019 FFA Outstanding Junior and served as the 2019-2020 FFA Chapter Vice President. She has also been involved in 4-H for the last decade, winning multiple awards over the last 10 years. Rodine recalls that “Both 4-H and FFA have made a large impact on my life and I hope to impact others while being an advocate for agriculture.” Rodine is the daughter of Kevin and Michelle Rodine, and she plans to attend NDSU to pursue a major in agribusiness and a minor in animal science this fall.
For over 20 years, Starion Bank has been awarding scholarships to support local students in their pursuit of higher education.
