HILLS INSURANCE AGENCY: How to Deposit a Check using Hills Bank’s App
Hills Insurance Agency issued the following announcement on Feb. 13.
In an effort to bring more convenience and flexibility to your banking needs, Hills Bank has a mobile deposit feature so you can deposit checks from our mobile apps available in the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Enrollment
When you log in to Hills Bank Online via your app, you will see the option to Deposit A Check and Enrollment Deposit. You must click Enrollment Deposit in order to deposit your first check. Simply follow the prompts and agree to the mobile deposit terms and conditions.
Depositing A Check
When you are ready to deposit your check, endorse your check as you normally would. In the To Account list, tap the account you want to deposit the check into. In the Enter the check amount tap to enter the amount of the check and tap Set.
At this point, you’re ready to take a picture of your check for mobile deposit. There are guides on the screen that will help you align the check for the image. Tap Capture Image to use your device to take a picture of the front and back of the check, and tap Deposit.

If you find the image of the check is blurry, you can tap Retake Frontor Retake Back to take a new picture. Some helpful tips for depositing a check through the Hills Bank app include placing the check flat on a plain dark background, and ensure nothing is obstructing the MICR line of your check.
When you’re happy with the image, tap Close and the check will appear in the submitted list in the Deposit Check History list.

Storing your Check
After depositing your check, we recommend you write on the check it was a mobile deposit and the date on which you made the deposit, then keep it for 14 days. After that, you can feel free to file the check in a secure location for your records or securely dispose of it.
Troubleshooting
If you are already enrolled in mobile deposit but are unable to deposit your check, it’s possible we don’t have the proper email address on file for you. If you are having problems with mobile deposit, please call our Customer Contact Center from 7am-7pm Monday – Friday and 8am-noon on Saturday at 1-800-445-5725 (1-800-HILLSBK).
Mobile deposits are available in the Hills Bank and Trust Company Apps on supported Apple and Android devices.
