Midland National Life Insurance Co. recently released the nine moments that matter when it comes to reviewing your life insurance policy. 

In a recent company blog the experts at Midland National advise getting in the habit of reviewing one's life insurance policy every couple years or whenever people go through major life experiences. 

The top nine life-changing moments that should prompt revisiting a policy include divorce or marriage, purchasing a home, having a child or more dependents, an employment change, the death of a beneficiary, a change in health or caring for loved ones and retirement. 

Many of these life changes could result in qualifying for new life insurance rates such as becoming healthier by stopping smoking or reducing weight or rectifying any medical issues, according to the Midland National blog. 

"Often, life insurance can fall into the category of out of sight, out of mind; you purchase a policy and call it good," the blog states.  "Resist the urge – review your life insurance policy should you experience any of these life events."
