The Bank of Tioga issued the following announcement on Aug. 8.

The Bank of Tioga, a community bank located in North Dakota, will host its second annual REV event, a small business pitch event with $10,000 in prizes.

REV is a pitch competition that enables area entrepreneurs and businesses the chance to win up to $10,000 to better their business. Applicants are judged on their pitch, marketing, personal investment level and exit strategy.

The Bank of Tioga believes that a community’s success is based on the strength of its small businesses which led to the launch of REV in 2017.

This event is hosted as a portion of The Bank of Tioga’s commitment to its community, which involves reinvesting 10 percent of its net income, locally.

The first annual REV took place on Nov. 17, 2017, winners included: Hidden Beauty Salon & Spa, awarded $3,500 to purchase red light therapy bed; Frandsen Landscaping, awarded $3,500 toward insulating their shop and pouring concrete; and Stems & Salvage, awarded $3,000 to purchase more supplies for hands-on classes and widen the inventory available for purchase.

Only five businesses will be selected to compete at the event with ten minutes to pitch their business concepts to a panel of four judges. Judges, a mixture of bank employees and community leaders, will then have ten minutes to ask questions.

REV applications are due Nov. 1, 2018.
