Baird Equity Asset Management's focus on mid cap stocks pays off
Baird Equity Asset Management celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Baird Mid Cap Growth Strategy on July 1.
The strategy is one of the company's six plans exclusively focused on mid cap stocks with the same portfolio manager. The Baird Mid Cap Growth Strategy was honored as Manager of the Year for the Mid Cap asset class at this year’s Envestnet Advisor Summit.
Chuck Severson, a senior portfolio manager, has worked on the strategy since it began in 1993.
"We are honored to be recognized for this award," Severson said. "Helping advisors and clients achieve their goals is not only gratifying, but has been a priority since our strategy was launched 25 years ago. We are committed to delivering superior investment results and client service."
The strategy started with only two investment professionals and grew into a team of six seasoned members.
“Baird’s Mid Cap Growth Strategy has always been managed with the same consistent and repeatable process and its risk-controlled approach has helped investors through tougher market environments,” Reik Read, managing director of Baird Equity Asset Management, said. “Chuck Severson and Ken Hemauer, co-senior portfolio manager, are talented professionals that have demonstrated the ability to add value for clients throughout their careers by investing in high-quality mid cap growth companies.”
Severson said the team has managed a true mid cap portfolio for their clients. They do extensive research to ensure a high quality portfolio.
