Kung named senior adviser at Wilmington Trust
Wilmington Trust named Irene Kung as Senior Investment Advisor at its Los Angeles Wealth Advisory office.
Hired in May, the firm will rely on Kung to develop investment portfolios of its customers depending on their unique parameters for risk, liquidity, return and other criteria. Portfolio management is one of Kung’s areas of expertise developed through her 20 years of experience in the investment management industry.
She was the former director of investment strategy at the City of Hope before she joined Wilmington, in which she provided portfolio management and oversight of City of Hope’s $2.6 billion endowments composed of traditional and alternative asset classes including global equities, real assets and private equity.
Kung’s extensive professional experience includes being a senior investment analyst at Akanthos Capital Management LLC in California, where she developed investment ideas in various business sectors such as health care, transportation and mining.
Her qualifications also include a vast know-how in investment strategies across the capital structure including leveraged loans, high yield/distressed.
Kung earned her MBA in finance and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
