USPS to unveil 'scratch-and-sniff' stamps next month
The United States Postal Service will begin issuing "scratch-and-sniff" stamps featuring frozen treats, which it will unveil at a special ceremony next month.
According to the USPS, the stamps will include a set of 10 frozen treat stamps each featuring colorful illustrations and a unique smell.
"In recent years, frozen treats containing fresh fruit such as kiwi, watermelon, blueberries, oranges and strawberries have become more common," the USPS said in a statement. "In addition, flavors such as chocolate, root beer and cola are also popular."
The stamps, designed by art directors Antonio Alcala and Leslie Badani, will feature the artwork of Margaret Berg. Berg is best known for illustrations that she has created for magazines, greeting cards, stationary, giftware, fabrics and ceramics.
According to the USPS, the new scratch-and-sniff stamps can be pre-ordered at https://store.usps.com/store/results/stamps/_/N-9y93lv just before the unveiling.
The Frozen Treats stamps will be issued as First-Class Forever stamps, the USPS said.
