South Dakota-based Midland National Life Insurance Co. is marking its continued growth with a social media milestone as the company recently hit 6,700 likes for its Facebook page. 

The life insurance and annuity company has used its Facebook page as a platform to help customers and share information on health and financial tips to its over 6,700 followers. 

According to the company's website, its growth and success are based largely on offering a broad portfolio for its individual and business policyholders with a goal of long-term sustained growth.

Wink's Inc., Quarterly Indexed Sales & Market Report has ranked Midland National among the top U.S. fixed index carriers and the company has a superior rating by A.M. Best Global Ratings for Sammons Financial Group. The company also earned a top rating from S&P Global Ratings and reached an A plus rating in 2016, which is the fifth-highest out of the S&P's 22 categories. 

Founded in 1906, as Dakota Mutual Life Insurance Co., the company was renamed in 1925 to Midland National Life Insurance and is a member company of Sammons Financial Group. Sammons Financial's member companies also include North American Company for Life and Health Insurance and Sammons Institutional Group.
