Cornerstone Bank to promote cyber security with seminar series
Advising small business owners not to let a false sense of immunity compromise cyber security, Cornerstone Bank is preparing for seminars to enhance entrepreneurial protection at multiple locations in North and South Dakota on March 21.
“Think cyber security attacks don’t happen to businesses like yours? Think again,” spokespersons said. “Attend one of our cyber security seminars to learn about Bitcoin ransom, business email compromise, cyber insurance, employee training, proper business use of computers, and ACH fraud.”
When cyber attacks manifest, six out of 10 small businesses fail within six months, according to Cornerstone experts, who also noted that in almost half (48 percent) of cases, security breaches stem from deliberate malice, while errors comprise the remaining half, Cornerstone leaders stated.
A selection of three session times — 7:30 a.m., noon or 4 p.m. — will be available at the following North Dakota Cornerstone bank sites: 2112 12th St. N. in Bismarck; 3095 15th St. W. in Dickinson; 2280 45th St. S. in Fargo; 323 S. Main St. in New Town; 11 S. Main St. in Parshall; or 106 Eighth Ave. SE in Watford City. Sessions are also slated for 4930 S. Western Ave., Suite 100 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
As space is limited, Cornerstone recommends reserving a spot by email noting preferred session spot and time along with the number of individuals planning to attend.
