TIAA appoints Woodroffe as chief HR officer
TIAA's Sean Woodroffe has been named chief HR officer and senior executive vice president at the financial services organization.
The HR veteran will succeed Skip Spriggs, who will join The Executive Leadership Council as president and CEO.
Woodroffe will assume the new role on March 1 and will be in charge of all aspects of human resources strategy and execution for TIAA’s global workforce. He currently serves as senior human resources leader at TIAA’s client services and technology unit.
In his new role he will oversee compensation and benefits; talent acquisition, assessment, and development; organizational design and effectiveness; and diversity and inclusion.
Woodroffe has more than 30 years of HR experience in the global financial services sector, including roles as senior vice president and chief people officer at National Life Group. He also held HR leadership positions at Sun Life Financial, Financial Guaranty Insurance Co., United Bank for Africa, and Merrill Lynch & Co.
Woodroffe obtained his bachelor’s degree in international relations from Shaw University.
