Genworth Mortgage Insurance has promoted Steve Hitchings to Housing Finance Authority (HFA) director. 

"Over the years Steve has brought an unparalleled mix of experience and expertise to our HFA segment, and we're thrilled to have him assume control as we continue growing the platform," John Clifford, senior vice president of commercial operations, said in a press release. "His deep HFA and business acumen, stellar sales collaboration, exceptional customer focus and robust problem-solving skills make him uniquely qualified to deliver the value and service that our customers have come to expect from us."

Hitchings has been with Genworth for 32 years and was recently the account development manager. In his new role, Hitchings will be working with the sales team to help the company continue to support the HFA value proposition as well as help the company to grow.

Genworth has been committed to HFA loans for nearly 40 years. It has paid claims on over 6,000 HFA loans and insured more than 80,000 HFA loans in the last 20 years.

Hitchings studied at the University of North Carolina.
