Baird, an international capital markets, wealth management, private equity and asset management firm, has announced an addition of two public finance bankers in Texas, according to a press release.
Oscar Cardenas, CPA, has been added to the San Antonio Public Finance team and Steve Murray has come to the Austin Public Finance office as a senior vice president and investment banker.
Cardenas, who has more than 22 years of experience of public finance experience, was on the team of Stifel Nicolaus where he worked with a number of school districts. He served as deputy superintendent and chief finance officer at Northside ISD, which is the fourth-largest district in Texas.
Murray has more than 35 years of public school leadership experience and was the superintendent for Bastrop ISD, having also worked in the past for Little Elm ISD, one of the most quickly growing school districts in the Dallas/Fort Worth vicinity.
Brian Brewer, director of Baird's Public Finance group, is delighted to have the new team members aboard.
"Their depth of knowledge and experience serving both as leaders and bankers for Texas ISDs will be a tremendous addition to our public finance team in Texas," Brewer said.
