Midland National wants to make 2018 the year you’re finally able to stick to all your bold, new budget plans.
The life insurance provider has outlined four simple steps on its website that could make this the year all your best-laid budget plans come to fruition.
First up, the company suggests reducing your daily food and beverage tab.
“It isn’t necessary to cut out everything you love, but you can save a lot of money by making some smart, simple changes to your everyday routine,” the company says in a website blog. “Instead of buying a lunch every day at work, take in leftovers from a weekend meal or make a sandwich in the morning before you head out the door. Instead of stopping at a coffee shop every morning, buy quality coffee in bulk and make it at home.”
Other suggestions include using comparison-shopping apps, scheduling no-spend weekends and finding a way to generate other outside income.
“If you’re splurging on Saturdays and Sundays, the costs can add up fast,” the company warns. “Consider scheduling a couple of no-spend weekends each month to help you save. There are many things you can do that don’t require money.”
And as a way of getting your hands on more of it, the company suggests a second or part-time job.
“Making as little as $100 extra a month will help you reach your budget goals more quickly, assist in paying off debt faster, or give you an opportunity to save more money for long-term goals,” the company adds in its blog.
